Legendary Equipment

Legendary equipment are the rarest and most powerful items in Ascension Protocol. These weapons and tools drop from high-rank dungeons and feature unique abilities that can turn the tide of battle.

Frost Pickaxe

Abilities

• Weapon Effect (Frost Freeze): Freezes foes on strike with 1.2x damage, applies Slowness II, and deals freeze damage.
• Tool Effect (Frost Mine): Right-click to freeze all nearby enemies in a 7x4x7 radius with Slowness II and extended freeze duration.

Lore

A pickaxe forged from eternal ice. Freezes foes on strike and mines with frost power. Mines up to 5 matching blocks.

Demon King's Ruin

Abilities

• Weapon Effect (Demon Flame): Burns enemies with hellfire on every strike with 1.3x damage, applies Weakness, and sets targets ablaze.

Lore

The cursed blade of a fallen demon king. Burns enemies with hellfire on every strike. Right-click: Demon Slash (fire damage + knockback).

Demon King Pickaxe

Abilities

• Weapon Effect (Demon Smash): Crushes foes with 1.25x damage, knocks them back with force, and applies Slowness.
• Tool Effect (Demon Break): Right-click to destroy blocks in a 3x3x2 explosive radius around the player.

Lore

A pickaxe infused with demonic power. Crushes foes and ore with unholy strength. Mines up to 5 matching blocks. Right-click: Demon Break (explosive mining).

Frost King Sword

Abilities

• Weapon Effect (Frost Blade): Channels the power of eternal winter with 1.32x damage, applies freeze and Slowness to the target, and deals splash damage to nearby enemies (25% of main damage) with freeze effects.

Lore

The legendary blade of the Frost King. Channels the power of eternal winter. Right-click: Frost Cleave (AoE slow + damage).

Obtaining Legendary Equipment

Legendary equipment can be obtained through:

1. Dungeon Loot Chests: Every dungeon spawns 1–2 rare loot chests (usually in treasure rooms). Alongside ordinary spoils (gold, diamonds, emeralds), each chest has a small, tier-scaled chance to contain a single legendary weapon or tool. Low-rank gates (E–B) never contain special gear — only ordinary loot. Gear can appear at A but is extremely rare (~1.5% per chest), and the top legendaries (Frost King Sword, Demon King's Ruin, Void Reaver, etc.) only roll in S/SS-rank and above. Chest contents are configured under loot.chests in gates.yml.
2. Boss & Mob Drops: A handful of items (warden_axe, abyssal_greatsword, monarch_artifact) also roll directly from mob/boss drop tables at high ranks.
3. Admin Commands / Crates: Server administrators (or a crates plugin) can grant items by ID (see below).

Legendary drop chance and the per-tier item pool are fully data-driven — edit loot.chests.tiers.<RANK> in gates.yml to tune rarity or add items.

Admin Commands

To give items to players by ID:

Permissions: /gates admin item requires ascension.gate.admin.item; /asc admin item requires ascension.admin.

Crates plugins: use the console form asc admin item give %player% <id> 1 (no leading slash in most crate reward configs). The target player must be online and AscensionGates loaded. See the item-ID reference below for exact IDs.

Monarch's Artifact

Rarity: LEGENDARY
Sell Price: $50,000

Drops only from MONARCH-rank dungeon bosses (guaranteed + rolls) and rare MONARCH mob loot. Anyone may hold or /sell it.

Ability — Monarch's Dominion

• Activation: Right-click (held)
• Requirement: Hunter rank MONARCH (lower ranks get an error; cooldown does not start)
• Cooldown: 90 seconds
• Effect: Pull nearby foes inward, then slam them outward for heavy damage + Weakness/Wither. Self buff: Strength III, Speed II, Resistance II, Absorption for 10 seconds.

Configurable under loot.items.monarch_artifact.ability (radius, damage, buff-seconds, pull-ticks).
